Gyöngyös (HUN) – Nella tappa regina del Tour de Hongrie arriva un grande risultato per il team MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack, grazie a Pavel Novák, che si piazza al 4° posto nella frazione più impegnativa, la Gödöllő–Gyöngyös (Kékestető), completata in 3h 54’ 13” e per una lunghezze di 162 km.

Ad imporsi è stato Harold López, ecuadoriano della XDS-Astana, che ha staccato tutti e ha tagliato il traguardo a braccia alzate con 7” di vantaggio su Alessandro Covi (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) e Albert Withen Philipsen (Lidl-Trek). Ottima prestazione anche per Novák, autore di una prova maiuscola in una giornata importante per il team, con Gábor Deák presente in ammiraglia al fianco di Antonio Bevilacqua.

GIOIA: fine tappa, l’emozione era palpabile tra tutti i membri della squadra. Una corsa, quella ungherese, che porta fortuna al team: anche lo scorso anno, infatti, era arrivato un brillante secondo posto con Samuel Quaranta. Da sottolineare come il team ora occupi il 5° posto nella graduatoria per squadre.

DICHIARAZIONI: Antonio Bevilacqua: “È stata una giornata emozionante. Per noi è stata una prova spettacolare, anche perché ci siamo confrontati con formazioni World Tour molto più attrezzate. Come sempre, affrontiamo la gara a viso aperto, senza timori reverenziali, mettendo in strada tutta la nostra grinta.”

Sull’emozione di correre in Ungheria:
“Novák ha ricevuto i complimenti direttamente da Gábor Deák, ed è stato un momento speciale. Ci tenevamo molto a fare bene qui, e oggi lo abbiamo dimostrato.”

Sulla gara:
“Forse Pavel ha peccato un po’ di generosità: si è messo davanti più volte, anche a 2 km dall’arrivo ha lanciato un’accelerazione. È un ragazzo di grande talento e oggi ha dimostrato di avere classe. Questa prova, oltre alla soddisfazione, sarà anche un utile insegnamento per il futuro: dovrà imparare a essere più smaliziato. Portiamo comunque a casa un 4° posto di tappa e un 5° in classifica generale, oltre a un’ottima prestazione nella classifica a squadre, grazie anche alle prove di Cretti, Valent, Tackas e Ambrosini.”

A fine giornata arriva anche il commento del corridore: “Oggi è stata una bellissima giornata. Dove mi sono sentito bene e ho voluto dare spettacolo. Avrei potuto cercare di risparmiarmi maggiormente, ma l’istinto ha prevalso”.
In ammiraglia oggi a dirigere il team c’era Davide Martinelli.

Gyöngyös (HUN) – A major result for MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack in the queen stage of the Tour de Hongrie, thanks to Pavel Novák, who claimed 4th place in the toughest stage of the race, the Gödöllő–Gyöngyös (Kékestető), completed in 3h 54’ 13” over a distance of 162 km.

The stage win went to Harold López, the Ecuadorian rider from XDS-Astana, who broke away from the rest and crossed the finish line with arms raised, holding a 7-second lead over Alessandro Covi (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) and Albert Withen Philipsen (Lidl-Trek). It was an outstanding performance from Novák as well, who delivered a stellar ride on a key day for the team, with Gábor Deák in the team car alongside Antonio Bevilacqua.

EMOTION: At the finish line, the team’s joy was tangible. Hungary seems to bring good luck to the squad—just last year they celebrated a brilliant second place with Samuel Quaranta. The team now sits 5th in the team classification.

“It was an emotional day. For us, it was a spectacular performance, especially considering we were up against much more equipped WorldTour teams. As always, we race with no fear, showing all our grit on the road.”

“Maybe Pavel was a bit too generous—he took the front several times and even attacked 2 km from the finish. He’s a hugely talented rider and today he showed real class. This performance, aside from the satisfaction, will be an important learning experience: he’ll need to become more tactically savvy. Still, we bring home a 4th place on the stage and 5th overall, along with a strong showing in the team classification, thanks also to solid efforts from Cretti, Valent, Tackas and Ambrosini.”

‘Today was a beautiful day. I felt good and wanted to put on a show. I could have tried to save myself more, but instinct prevailed.’”
