PERGINE VALSUGANA (TN) – Dopo il successo di ieri con Diego Bracalente, arriva un bel podio nel prestigioso Trofeo Alcide De Gasperi, che si svolge in una data simbolica per l’Italia, il 2 giugno, con il 3° posto per Luca Cretti. Il bergamasco conferma la sua solidità in una gara di categoria 1.2, che ha visto al via atleti di alto livello, e che è stata vinta dall’ucraino Kyrylo Tsarenko (professionista della Solution Tech), davanti al tedesco Lennart Jasch del team Red Bull-BORA-Hansgrohe Rookies.
La corsa si è conclusa dopo 160 km in 3h43’20” a una media di 42,9 km/h. Da segnalare, per il team MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack, anche il 10° posto di Christian Bagatin, il 12° di Matteo Ambrosini e il 19° di Mark Valent.
LE PAROLE DI CRETTI
Dopo l’arrivo, Cretti ha raccontato la sua prova:
«È stata una gara molto dura. Ho resistito con grinta e sapevo che l’unica chance era anticipare il gruppo. Ho attaccato a 1,5 km dall’arrivo, e sono stato seguito da Tsarenko e Jasch, che poi mi hanno staccato. Non è stato un vero sprint, ma una gara di resistenza: infatti siamo arrivati tutti sgranati, l’ordine d’arrivo si è formato quasi da solo».
Il corridore Elite fa anche un bilancio della prima parte del 2025:
«Avevo bisogno di questo risultato, conferma il mio buon stato di forma. Sono partito bene già a febbraio, sempre su buoni livelli, anche se manca ancora l’acuto. Oggi serviva una prestazione così, fa bene all’autostima».
Guardando avanti:
«Ora salgo in altura, a Livigno, poi mi aspettano gare più adatte alle mie caratteristiche, con arrivi in salita. Sono tranquillo: c’è ancora tempo per raccogliere risultati. Anche due anni fa iniziai ad andar forte al Giro Next Gen e vissi un’estate di altissimo livello».
IL COMMENTO DEL DS FLAVIO MIOZZO
In ammiraglia oggi c’era Flavio Miozzo, che ha analizzato così la giornata:
«Abbiamo corso bene. Matteo Ambrosini è andato in fuga a tre giri dalla fine, poi è toccato a Cretti entrare in azione. La salita del Colle di Tenna era impegnativa, 6 km di ascesa, e il gruppo ha sempre tenuto la fuga sotto controllo. Le squadre più forti hanno gestito il ritmo. Il confronto con i professionisti ci ha stimolati a dare il massimo. Il gruppo è arrivato spezzato e siamo riusciti a piazzare due atleti nei primi dieci».
Sul lavoro di squadra:
«Vas ha dato tutto, e anche chi arrivava dalle fatiche nelle Marche ha fatto la sua parte. Gara molto tirata e tecnica, con punte di 100 km/h in discesa».
OIOLI 6° A FIORANO MODENESE
Buona prova anche per Manuel Oioli, 6° a Fiorano Modenese, nella corsa vinta da Marco Manenti. Il piemontese era al rientro dopo tre settimane di preparazione in altura e ha vinto la volata del gruppo, alle spalle dei cinque fuggitivi. Un piazzamento che lascia un po’ di rammarico, ma conferma la sua competitività.

PERGINE VALSUGANA (TN) – After yesterday’s success with Diego Bracalente, the team claimed another strong result with a podium finish in the prestigious Trofeo Alcide De Gasperi, held on a symbolic date for Italy, June 2nd, with Luca Cretti taking 3rd place. The rider from Bergamo confirmed his consistency in this UCI 1.2 category race, which featured a high-level field and was won by Ukrainian Kyrylo Tsarenko (professional rider for Solution Tech), ahead of Germany’s Lennart Jasch of the Red Bull-BORA-Hansgrohe Rookies team.
The race concluded after 160 km in 3h43’20”, at an average speed of 42.9 km/h. Also worth noting for MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack were the 10th place by Christian Bagatin, 12th by Matteo Ambrosini, and 19th by Mark Valent.
CRETTI’S WORDS
After the finish, Cretti shared his thoughts on the race: “It was a very tough race. I held on with grit and knew that my only chance was to go ahead of the bunch. I attacked with 1.5 km to go, and was followed by Tsarenko and Jasch, who then dropped me. It wasn’t a real sprint, but more of a test of endurance — we were all strung out, and the final classification pretty much sorted itself.”
The Elite rider also reflected on the first part of his 2025 season: “I really needed this result; it confirms my good condition. I started well already in February, always performing consistently, even if I’m still missing that big result. Today’s performance was important — it’s a real confidence booster.”
Looking ahead: “Now I’ll head to altitude training in Livigno, and then I’ll have some races more suited to my characteristics, with uphill finishes. I’m calm — there’s still time to get results. Even two years ago, I started to hit form at the Giro Next Gen and went on to have a great summer.”
DS FLAVIO MIOZZO’S COMMENTS
In the team car today was Flavio Miozzo, who analyzed the race as follows: “We rode well. Matteo Ambrosini broke away with three laps to go, and then it was Cretti’s turn to make his move. The Colle di Tenna climb was tough — 6 km uphill — and the bunch always kept the breakaway under control. The strongest teams set the pace. Racing against professionals pushed us to give our best. The bunch split up, and we managed to get two riders in the top ten.”
On the team effort: “Vas gave everything, and even those coming off a tough race block in the Marche region did their part. It was a very intense and technical race, with downhill speeds peaking at 100 km/h.”
OIOLI 6TH IN FIORANO MODENESE
A strong performance also came from Manuel Oioli, who finished 6th in Fiorano Modenese, in the race won by Marco Manenti. The rider from Piedmont was returning to competition after three weeks of altitude training and won the sprint of the chasing group, just behind the five breakaway riders. A result that carries a bit of regret, but confirms his strong form.
