Giro Next Gen: Masciarelli attacca e chiude settimo nella quarta tappa. Ancora bene il team MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack

SALSOMAGGIORE TERME – Continuano le buone prestazioni del team MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack al Giro Next Gen. Nella quarta tappa, da Manerbio a Salsomaggiore Terme di 148 km, è Lorenzo Masciarelli a mettersi in evidenza con una prova coraggiosa e generosa: l’abruzzese è stato protagonista di un attacco nella parte centrale della corsa, andando in fuga insieme ad altri 8 e poi in coppia con Pierre Basset del team XDS Astana. I due sono stati ripresi a 5 km dal traguardo, ma il tentativo ha dimostrato ancora una volta la vivacità e lo spirito combattivo della formazione diretta oggi da Gianluca Valoti e Davide Martinelli.

Lo sprint è stato vinto dall’irlandese Seth Dunwoody della Bahrain Victorious Development, che ha anticipato il danese Frydkjaer. Masciarelli ha chiuso al 7° posto, risultando il miglior italiano di giornata.

MASCIARELLI

Tocca al corridore abruzzese raccontare le sue emozioni.
“Oggi è stata durissima, nella prima parte tutti volevano andare all’attacco e non era semplice riuscire a prendere la fuga giusta. Ai meno 60 ce l’abbiamo fatta. Sul GPM sono anche riuscito a fare il vuoto e rimanere da solo. Poi siamo rimasti in due con Pierre Basset che è stato bravo a rientrare. Ai meno 5 siamo stati ripresi. A quel punto non rimaneva che recuperare un po’ di energie e impostare la volata. Vuoi la stanchezza, che mi ha tolto lucidità, e le gambe appesantite, ho commesso un errore partendo troppo presto. Ora guardiamo avanti: ci sono tappe ancora adatte ai colpi di mano, io e i compagni siamo pronti a metterci in gioco”, ha raccontato Masciarelli dopo l’arrivo.

Il team MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack sta vivendo un Giro solido e in costante crescita:
“Ieri il 5° posto di Pavel Novak nella tappa regina con arrivo al Passo Maniva, nel cronoprologo l’ottima prova  di Tackas, e oggi l’attacco coraggioso di Lorenzo Masciarelli, sempre tra i più attivi. Importante anche il discorso relativo alla classifica con Novak in 8^ posizione a 1’:07 dalla maglia rosa Jarno Widar”, le parole di Gianluca Valoti e Davide Martinelli.

Ora l’attenzione si sposta sulle prossime tappe, mosse e imprevedibili, ideali per nuovi tentativi da lontano. Sabato, infine, la “tappa della verità”, decisiva per la classifica generale e per sognare in grande.

Domani si parte da Fiorenzuola e si arriva a Gavi dopo 153 km.

Giro Next Gen: Masciarelli attacks and finishes seventh on stage 4. Another solid performance from Team MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack

SALSOMAGGIORE TERME – Team MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack continues to impress at the Giro Next Gen. In stage 4, from Manerbio to Salsomaggiore Terme (148 km), it was Lorenzo Masciarelli who stood out with a courageous and generous performance. The rider from Abruzzo launched an attack in the middle part of the race, first joining a breakaway of nine riders, then going ahead with Pierre Basset of Team XDS Astana. The duo was caught with 5 km to go, but the move once again showcased the fighting spirit and liveliness of the team, directed today by Gianluca Valoti and Davide Martinelli.

The sprint was won by Ireland’s Seth Dunwoody (Bahrain Victorious Development), who edged out Denmark’s Frydkjaer. Masciarelli crossed the line in 7th, making him the top Italian finisher of the day.

MASCIARELLI

The young Italian shared his thoughts after the race: “It was a very tough day. In the first part, everyone wanted to break away, and it wasn’t easy to get in the right move. Around 60 km to go, we finally made it. I managed to create a gap on the GPM and stayed alone for a while. Then Pierre Basset bridged across and we worked together. With 5 km to go, we were caught. At that point, I just tried to recover some energy for the sprint. But fatigue and heavy legs got the better of me, and I launched too early. Still, we’re looking ahead: there are more stages suitable for breakaways, and my teammates and I are ready to give it our all.”

Team MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack continues its steady progression in the race: “Yesterday we had Pavel Novák’s excellent 5th place on the queen stage to Passo Maniva. In the prologue, Tackas put in a strong ITT performance. And today we saw Masciarelli’s brave attack – always among the most active riders. Novák is still well-placed in GC, 8th overall at 1:07 from the pink jersey Jarno Widar,” said team directors Gianluca Valoti and Davide Martinelli.

All eyes are now on the upcoming unpredictable and hilly stages, ideal for long-range attacks. Saturday’s queen stage will be the true test and could shape the final general classification.

Tomorrow’s stage starts in Fiorenzuola and finishes in Gavi, after 153 km.
